This should be the new poster boy for lightweight supercars

Remember the story of a mean four-wheeler we posted not long ago? Well the company, headed by a former jet fighter pilot is at it again with another extreme build but this, this is on another spectrum, another scale and form of frightening.

It’s called the Rezvani Beast Alpha X Black Bird Edition – inspired by the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird jet and from the looks (and specification) of it, the Alpha X looks more intimidating than its inspiration.

It’s based on a Lotus Elise chassis with familiar interior trims carried over and with a retail price starting from USD 225,000 (RM 873k), it comes with what seems like a K20A Honda engine that’s been over-bored to 2.5-litre and turborcharged to produce a whopping 700 hp.

The engine has been built from the ground up with new camshafts, valves, valve springs, new forged pistons, conrods and is led by a Cosworth ECU. The results? A 0 to 100 km/h time of just 2.9 seconds.

Power is delivered through a close-ratio 6-speed transmission for a more immersive driving experience with an optional sequential automatic transmission but honestly, do you wanna be seen driving an automatic? In something that looks that manly and aggressive?

Its body is made entirely of carbon fibre and as a result, the Beast Alpha X weighs just 975 kg. Another highlight of its exterior are the trademark SideWinder doors that operates like those found on a MPV.

Regularly spend countless hours online looking at cars and parts I can't afford to buy. How a car makes you feel behind the wheel should be more important than the brand it represents - unless resale value is your thing.
