Nissan Chief Executive Officer, Hiroto Saikawa has said at the Automotive News World Congress,  Infiniti will be introducing its first pure electric vehicle (EV) in 2021 as part of the brand’s push for electrified vehicles.

The luxury carmaker expressed its push for electrified vehicles through a range of pure EVs and e-Power vehicles – Nissan’s innovative hybrid system that uses electric motors, juiced by a small combustion engine to drive the car. This brings ultra-low emission vehicle technology to Infiniti as the premium brand within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. Currently, Infiniti’s only electrified technology are mild petrol hybrids.

Infiniti also expects that its range of ultra-low emission EVs to make up more than 50 percent of its global sales by 2025. Recently the company unveiled its latest concept car, the Q Inspiration Concept; a design study of what Infiniti will have in store for its future models.
